This Coca-Cola Ice Box from our collection is in excellent condition, with a vibrant red color and a good, clean interior.
This was likely manufactured in the late 1940s, and 1958 at the very latest. The Coca-Cola Sprite Boy you can see painted on the front was introduced to the brand in 1942, and phased out of the brand entirely by 1958. 2 Years later Sprite was acquired by Coca-Cola.
However, metal rationing in WWII makes it unlikely that this piece was manufactured prior to the end of the war, and the falling popularity of Ice Boxes (Down to only 15% of households by 1944) in the wake of electric refrigeration, means that this was likely produced in the late 1940s.
While similar models exist, this particular structure and paint job has proven difficult to find, making it quite the unique piece.
